AVG Internet Security 2013: not possible to install it anymore

Greet, Have a look @ this official AVG article (http://avgclick.me/UpgradeToLatest). Did you follow all the preparation aspects?.

It appears that, in my case at least, the previous version failed to completely uninstall.  This would be the fault of the installer.

Download and run Microsoft Fixit (Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed - Microsoft Support) and follow the directions.  It appears to work.

New AVG users, it appears, are OK.  This should only apply to existing users.

I'd assume AVG would take care of existing users first.  If this happens with the 2016 release, I'm done and going to McAfee.

Thank you for taking up this issue so seriously.  I already received the e-mail you sent and I will contact the technician tomorrow afternoon (June 1st, around 14h CET), since I don't have access to my PC for the moment (visiting family this afternoon).
I appreciate your efforts.  That's the kind of support one can expect when paying for an application!
I will let you know through this forum if the issue is eventually resolved.

As mentioned in my original message, I was able to install an older version (2012), but of course, I would like to be on the latest version, even if it were only to have the latest and most up-to-date protection.
Your suggestion/answer is definitely a much better suggestion/answer than the one I got from the AVG support team in the UK through e-mail.  They initially initiated a remedy (first, completely uninstall AVG and then use a fresh installer) but when that failed and I came back on the issue, they all of a sudden said it was not possible any more to help through an e-mail line.  But in the mean time, I was completely unprotected, until I found myself that the version AVG Internet Security 2012 was (luckily) successfully installable on my PC.
I was absolutely not pleased with such feedback.
Let's hope the result of the chat session can also solve my issues.
