Avg internet security 2015

I have XP PRO SP3.   Error message is

Identity component is not active

When I press the FIX button - it's unable to fix automatically and suggests I go to AVG website - where I find there is no answer to this problem.

Does that give you a clue?

Hello Jacqueline. I am sorry to hear that. Could you please let me know whether you have received any error message while updating your AVG program and please let us know whether you have installed Windows XP SP1 or SP2 on your PC ?

I have just upgraded to AVG Internet Security 2015 (from 2014) but now find that automatic updates will not work.   Is this because it is not compatible with XP Pro?   If so,
A)   What can I do about it, or
B)   Can I downgrade back to 2014 and continue to enjoy automatic updates.

It seems to me that, without automatic updates, the product is pretty worthless.

Any help that can be offered will be gratefully received
