Sorry to know this. Could you please re-install your AVG Internet Security program and check if the issue persists? Please run AVG remover tool based on your OS (32-bit or 64-bit) to completely remove AVG and then re install. I use the German version 2016.0.7161 on two Windows 10 devices (PC + Notebook). In both, the event log in the "History" is empty.
All other logs (firewall, scan log etc.) are filled. For the event log is probably missing a link.
