I apologize for the inconvenience. It seems that the program got corrupted while updating AVG. We need to remove AVG traces completely from your PC and then reinstall it.

I have AVG internet security 2017 unlimited with program version 17.4, I was prompt to update to 17.5, but everything I press update, it says I'm already up to date for 17.4. How do I get the latest version 17.5?

Regina, the full version of AVG does show only active in your computer. To see the subscription details, please open the AVG Internet Security, click on Menu->About->Subscription. From here you see the active AVG subscription.
I can understand your concern, Regina. We are aware of this issue with the scheduled scan and have already escalated to the developer team. They will soon fix this issue in future updates of AVG.
i paid for another year,but for some reason it didn't stay active in/on my machine.
