Thank you for contacting us, I am sorry for any inconvenience caused to you. AVG is trying to upgrade to latest 2017 version but it seems to have failed to uninstall 2016 version during the process. I request you to run AVG Remover tool to uninstall 2016 version from your PC as suggested in this article http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-uninstall-AVG .
And, AVG does not use Outlook for any reason. Is that some error message pop up from AVG regarding Outlook?
Last week my laptop slowed, notice of not being protected showed up then there were two icons for AVG. One AVG Internet Security and one AVG Dashboard that when opened, looks different then the version I have been using.
I have another year left on my paid subscription.
I uninstalled, downloaded the newest version, reinstalled, updated virus threats, and scanned. Worked fine for a few hours today. Then I recd messages again that I am not protected. The AVG Internet Security icon does not work, the AVG Dashboard icon is back and tells me I am not protected.
Is this an upgrade? Is my paid subscription still good? Is this really AVG? What do I need to do to use only one version and remove the conflicts that slows my work to almost a halt?
Another question. I do not use outlook but for some reason, outlook is always trying to open. Does AVG use outlook for something?
