Only if I turn of AVG or the "Enhanced Firewall" can I find any casting targets.
I am using a standar Lenovo ideapad 320 laptop with Windows 10 and Crome as browser. All components updated to latest versions (using auto updates but have checked).
Your online support team has accessed the computer remotely and "fixed" the problem but it quickly came back. (I do not know if this is relevant but I had a flash from AVG I.S. that a network change had been detected. I had not changed anything and I cannot find any change, - and the network is still classed as "Private")
Is there a permanent or at least better solution than having to disable the Enhanced Firewall every time I want to Cast?
Greetings,
We're glad to look into this & help you.
Sometimes, this might happen if few firewall settings are not modified. Please try enabling few settings by following the below steps & let us know if it helps :
Open AVG Internet Security - Menu - Settings - Full protection - Enhanced firewall - Enable 'internet connection sharing mode'.
Later click on System rules in the same page & enable 'Allow windows file & printer sharing, remote desktop connections' (1st two options).
If issue persists, please attempt to change the network profile to public & check (in the same page).
