AVG Internet Security Blocks all Websites and Network Device Access

I thought I was updating the definitions but the application was automatically updated, as well, without warning or notification. After that, AVG Internet Security Blocks all Websites and Network Devices, including ahred network drives and NAS devices. The only recourse is to disable all protection and everything works as expected. I even tried to disable HTTPS services, based upon a 2-year old issue that someone else had experienced, which had no effect. The application did not create a restore-point, for some reason, and it is not possible to revert back to the former version. This is NOT the free version. Details as folllows:
