The admin console is installed on Server 2008. The attempted network install is to a single Windows 7 PC. I have spent a number of hours trying avariety of variations, to no avail. Have tried installing from inside the console, and the Network installer stand alone tool. From the console, the error msg is "Installation failed:Unable to copy AWG installation files to the remote workstation." The update proxy server is a different location, a server running Server 2008 R2.
The remote workststion has the firewall completely off, there are no other av products on it. I can access it via rdp, the hidden shares, the registry.
I can find no log on the remote machine nor the admin console to look for more info.
Does anyone have any ideas how to resolve this or how it can be troubleshot. Thanks.
Hi Jim,
To help us determine the cause of the issue with the installation, please debug the network installer by editing the following config file:
C:\ProgramData\Avg2013\Admin Log\Log\admnetworkinstaller.cfg
Change the "Severity" to "Debug" then save the changes.
Restart the AVG Admin Server (from the system tray) then restart the AVG Network Installer Wizard (from the Tools menu), ensuring the installation package is stored on a local drive on the server.
Once the installation fails, please gather the logs from:
C:\Users<username>\AppData\Local\Avg2013\admin_log
I will be sending an email to your login address so you can return these to us for analysis.
Thanks,
George
