AVG Internet Security Deep Scan duration - excessive?

What can I say? Kaspersky did not take 24hrs + to fully scan my iMac, however AVG Internet Security Deep Scan is now in its 26 hour and whilst indicating dealing with items as the address keeps changing it is still at 90% during Scanning for threats after 8hrs.

I note this has been a known issue with the package and no one has said 'it is because it is the best taking so long indicates its the most thorough'. So what is the issue AVG and when will you move up the speed tables?

To me the loss of smooth functionality created whilst scanning means a return to Kaspesky looks inevitable, but before I'd like to offer the creator the chance to address my version of the issue.
