I have had this pop up too following the latest AVG software update which I installed 03/04/20. When I expand the details box it reads:
App name: C:\program files\avg\antivirus\AVGSvc.exe
Affected browser: Google Chrome
Password storage path: C:\users\XXXX\AppData\local\Google\Chrome\UserData\Default\Login Data
Detected by: Password Protection
Status: Blocked
It was blocked because I selected blocked. This message poped up when I was running a routine deep scan also.
Hi Christine,
I understand that you are getting this pop up "AVGSvc.exe is trying to access your passwords in Google Chrome" when running the deep scan.
Could you share the screenshot of the pop up when it appears again?
You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
I am running the Deep Scan in my AVG Internet Security. Suddenly I get a pop-up window that says:
"AVGSvc.exe is trying to access your passwords in Google Chrome".
with 2 options of allowing or blocking. I just close the window without choosing an option. I forgot to take a screenshot. So I running Deep Scan again. If it comes up again, what should I do?
