Thank you for reaching us with your concerns. I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused to you. Please be informed that the private network profile is intended for home network only. If your PC is connected in a domain or a public network, the firewall setting may also change to Public after a reboot. If it is a home network you are connected to, I would request you to uninstall and re install the AVG Firewall feature alone.
Open AVG Internet Security, click on Menu->Settings->Components.
Scroll down to Firewall component and click on drop down to see Uninstall option.
Why AVG can not remember settings I make? For some weird reason I have to make network profile settings EVERY DAY and every time after reboot. I have a General Ledger software which relays on MS-SQL and it can not make a connection to database on same PC because AVG is using Public profile setting. One way would be, of course, to make a rule in firewall settings, but even an AVG specialist couldn't make that function.
