Hello Emmanuel.
We'd be glad to look into this.
Could you share a screenshot (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201361) of the firewall alert?
I'm using AVG Internet Security for macos. My firewall keeps alerting me on the terminated attempt to run sh files when I try to check for virus definition updates.
The following sh file are attempting to run, shepherd.sh, update.sh.
I found these folders in the following directory:
/AVGAntivirus.app/Contents/Backend/scripts/update/
download.sh
info-AAVG.sh
info-vps9.sh
install-AAVG.pem
install-AAVG.sh
install-vps9.sh
refresh_download.sh
refresh.sh
shepherd.sh
update.sh
What are these sh files and are the a part of AVG internet security software package?
Also, these sh files are trying to connect to "shepherd.ff.avast.com" and "mac-hub.u.avcdn.net" servers. What are these servers?
Please advise.

Hello Emmanuel.
We'd be glad to look into this.
Could you share a screenshot (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201361) of the firewall alert?
Thank you for sharing the screenshots, Emmanuel.
Could you let us know if you have any other security/antivirus program installed in your Mac?
Also, please do not delete/remove the files that've been detected in the screenshot, as they may be a part of AVG update files & crucial.
Awaiting your response.
Let us attempt to clarify this for you, Emmanuel.
From your description, we see that the other antivirus is blocking the communication with our servers while downloading the virus definitions.
Hence, our colleague has suggested you to disable Malwarebytes & try to update the virus definitions to check if it is a false positive/incorrect detection from Malwarebytes.

but I don't understand. How that relates to those scripts being triggered when I click on the AVG virus definition updates?
