AVG Internet Security goes berserk

Hello PJ.
Thank you for reaching us here with this concern.
We have to escalate this query to our senior technical team for more clarification. To go ahead and escalate, we request you to provide few details.

Which AVG product are you using? What is the version of Windows operating system (7, 8, 8.1 or 10) installed on your PC? Do you have any other antivirus or firewall application installed on your PC?

Folks,

I thought I'd try to run my computer without Administrator privileges, to enhance security, so I removed the Administrators group from my personal account, restarted the computer, and logged in. And then AVG went totally berserk. Several AVG services ran at high CPU with "AVG Software Analyzer" at the top with approx. 30%, closely followed by "AVG Service" at about 20%, and in total about 60%. And it never stopped. And when I put back the Administrator privileges, everything went back to normal. Is it not possible to run AVG Internet Security with a non-admin user and get it to behave normally?

Sincerely,

PJ

Windows 10 version 2004 (OS-version 19041.928)

AVG Internet Security 21.3.3174 (version 21.3.6164.657)

I have no other antivirus or firewall installed. I am assuming that AVG is handling Windows Defender and the Windows Firewall according to its wishes. I have not touched them in any way myself.
