I am using the free version of AVG and it has broken Disqus on Firefox. I tried emailing help desk but the system wasted my time by having me enter all the information then tell me support was only available to "paid" users after selecting submit. If your not going to support your free version when it has obvious bugs, you will never see any money from me. Open up your help desk email system to the free version and respond as resources permit.
Your problem is confirmed with Firefox 78.0.2 running on Windows 10 Pro. When I disable AVG Internet Security addon, Disqus works on all sites. Disqus also works in a private tab, however, AVG Internet Securitty add on is disabled by default in Private tab of Firefox. Problem has been ongoing now for several months.
I have been a long time user of the free version and was looking to upgrade, however, with the whining the free version does and the fact you don't support it officially tells me all I need to know. I will be looking elsewhere.

Could you confirm whether you are using AVG Antivirus free or trial of AVG Internet Security?
Please open AVG Internet Security or AVG Antivirus free and click on "Menu->About".
Check whether it shows 20.5 version.
