AVG Internet Security in passive mode

Two problems:
1. Internet Security tells me that it is in passive mode because another antivirus (Avast) is installed, I have deleted the other program,  but the screen is still telling me that it is in passive  mode.
.
2.  The scan says that I have an undesirable program (Firefox YouTube Downloader) installed and gives a button to uninstall it.   However, It is obviously not doing it because I get this message every time I do a scan.
