I understand the inconvenience. It seems that AVG traces haven't removed completely from your PC. I would request you to follow the steps in this article http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product to reinstall AVG Internet Security by running AVG Remover and AVG Clear tool.
Note: first Run AVG Clear tool and then Remover.

Having had a series of problems with error warnings about the app being out of date (not the case) I have uninstalled the app and am trying to reinstall. On entering the code an error occurs with the message Installation failed.
What has gone wrong now for goodness sake!
