AVG Internet Security is keeping me from accessing my QNAP NAS

Hello Shahriar.
We'll certainly look into this issue.
Could you confirm the version of macOS you are running?
Do you use Qfinder Pro to connect to the NAS device?

Hello Avinash,

I tried replying to your email but it did not go through, so I logged into my QNAP account to answer here.  To answer your questions:

MacOS version:  10.15.6

To access my QNAP NAS, I use both QFinder Pro (version 7.4.1) and I also type my server IP manually into my browser.  In both cases, the result is the same… it says that my connection is not private and it doesn't let me in.

Any way to neglect the firewall with specific addresses?

Thank you,

I have AVG Internet Security as part of the Ultimate package, I am assuming.   I see that AVG Internet Security firewall blocks any access I have to my QNAP NAS.  I know this because the page loads and I am able to log in after I turn off the "Web Shield" feature in my AVG settings.  I should say that at one point a few days ago, I was able to access my NAS server, but now suddenly the firewall blocks access to my NAS login - I am not sure what has changed.

It does this regardless if whether I use Qfinder ap, which launches the default browser and attempts to open the page, or if I type in my server address manually.  In both cases, in Chrome and Safari, I get the message along the lines of "Your connection is not private."  Even if I request to view the certificate from QNAP and click the "go to webpage anyway" function, it brings me back to the "Your connection is not Private" page.  It is impossible to access my NAS this way.

I know this is a long-standing issue between QNAP and AVG, but in the forum people have discussed solutions for Windows.  What can I do on my Mac to have AVG individually neglects the shelf for the specific NAS address?  Thank you.

Thank you for the clarification, Shahriar.
