AVG Internet Security June 03 2020 Update & Windows 7

Hi Nathan,

I'm no longer able to open Adobe PDF's.  These were all converted to AVG Browser HTML files, possibly through my AVG's protect my files actions, or possibly with this June 3rd nightmare update.  I've downloaded and reinstalled Adobe Reader, but this did not fix the problem.  When I click on an Adobe PDF, I now get a message: Windows cannot find… (document address in C drive)… Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.  If I go into properties, and change these Adobe PDF files to HTML AVG or HTML Chrome files, then I get them back.  If I reconvert them back to Adobe PDF files, they don't work and I get the above message.  I have AVG installed and my operating system is Windows 7 64 bit, professional.  I need to send files as Adobe PDF files to my students though.   I would like to know an immediate resolution to this problem!

Hi to All,
I have experienced several problems after last update 20.4.3125 released on June 03 2020 for AVG Internet Security. I am a IT technician, and some of my customers use this product.
After the update, some clients with Windows 7 64bit have become unstable, in many cases stopping browsing web or with errors opening applications (e.g. Adobe Reader DC or other common applications). Sometimes a forced restart is required by pressing power button, due to the system that stops responding.

I had to remove the AVG Applications with the cleaner tool. Sometimes reinstalling, the problem was corrected. But in other cases, the problem still persist after cleanup / reinstallation too.
I have already opened a ticket with AVG Support, but nothing was solved because I think that the problem was not understood correclty by the support team.
I have also experienced a similar problem with BSOD on a Windows 8.1 client, but this is a limited case.
Does anyone experienced the same problem afret this update?
Thank you for any kind of reply that can help me resolving the issue.

Hi Maurizio,

We're glad to look into this & help you. Thank you for your time in notifying this to us.
We haven't received customers reporting the issue that you've mentioned in Windows 7 & Windows 8. There was an issue with the recent release AVG TuneUp (20.1).
It has been fixed by our developers currently & the fix is to reinstall AVG TuneUp. It seems that your clients has experienced the issue with the recent release of AVG TuneUp.
To check it, let us know what happens exactly while accessing Adobe or common apps.
Upon checking our records, we see that your request has been forwarded to the senior team & they've suggested with the clean installation.
You can either reply to that email or to this post to proceed further. However, to keep the conversation simple we request you to maintain the conversation in a single thread.
