Try to restart your Notebook and proceed with the installation if you still have trouble installing our software, please let us know the bit of your operating system. And also send us the screenshot (http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-create-a-screenshot) of the pop-up window that says missing required software to assist you better.
Has anyone had problems with the latest installation of AVG Internet Security on a Windows XP SP.3 computer? I successfully installed the latest AVG updates on two of my three computers; Windows XP SP.3 desktop computer and Windows 10 desktop computer, but I could not install AVG update on my Windows XP SP.3 NoteBook computer due to a "Microsoft Windows" scan during installation which determined that its operating system was missing required software. No specific software was specified.
