Avg internet security not allowing access to settings

I did as you suggested and I still have the same problem.  Windows updates are up to date, Windows 10, version 1709, there are no device conflicts or problems with other programs that I can see and yet... I have done a clean install of the program numerous times and still nothing changes.  It is very frustrating.  Please help if you can.

Hi.  My problem was resolved.  It was due to deficient installation of the latest Windows Update.  I was able to resolve that problem and now everything works perfectly.  Thank you for your time and trouble.

Hi.  I have AVG Internet Security which is not allowing me to access "settings".  When pressing the setting button I get a blank screen which goes back and forth to opening screen but shows it is continually working.  No imput during this time is allowed.
