After AVG was upgraded to version 17.4.3014 I was unable to send/receive e-mail from Microsoft Outlook 2016. I got "Send/receive error" consistently. I disabled AVG and then Outlook worked fine. So, AVG is the culprit. I was given some instructions to fix the problem, and they required digging deep into the bowels of AVG to customize the e-mail security settings. It involved going to the "SSL scanning" section of the Components configuration and downloading a certificate. Well, I did all of that, and now I have a file sitting on my desktop called mailshield.der. The instructions I was given told me "apply the certificate to Outlook." I don't know how to do that. In Outlook I went to Tools/Options/Trust Center and waded through some other menus, but I didn't see how to import that certificate. For now I have unchecked that "SSL scanning" box in AVG, and things are working. But I have also noticed that Outlook takes a really long time to "Send/receive", like 45 seconds. Used to take five seconds.
