For me, there was a simple resolution.
The conflicting protection messages indicated an unapplied Microsoft Update. -- In other words, a true conflict between the PC's and AVG's scan.
After applying the Update, the problem went away.

After rebooting my computer, AVG frequently has an "Internet Security - Attention" message in the System Tray.
When I open up AVG Internet Security, it says "Protection is Disabled - Protection will be automatically enabled after PC restart". That is incorrect, I tried it a couple of times and the same message occurred after.
There are two icons that say "Not Protected": Computer and Hacker Attacks. Under Computer, Behavior Shield is off, under Hacker Attacks, Ransomware Protection is off. Turning them both on results in a "You are fully protected" message in AVG Internet Security, no reboot required.
How can this be fixed? When I installed Windows 10 back in December (new HDD so fresh install, not an upgrade), this did not happen…
Thanks,
John
Thanks Santhosh. In response to your questions:
Have you activated your product?
I didn't know you could run AVG Internet Security beyond the trial without paying for it. So I don't know how to tell if it is activated.
Please provide us the version of your AVG Internet security.
Software version: 19.3.3084 (build 19.3.4241.445)
UI version: 1.0.152
Try to repair the product and check for the issue again https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Repair-AVG-Antivirus
I repaired using the instruction provided and rebooted after. Exact same problem!
