The devices count listed in subscription section of AVG program is the activation counts.
Even if you reinstall, reactivate the program on the same computer, the program would consider it as a new device & the activation (seat) count will be raised.

Could you share the screenshot where it has been asked to increase the subscription?

In Menu it says I am using Internet Security on two devices. I am only using it on one device which is my home PC. It is coming up for renewal shortly and so this needs correcting beforehand. I recently had a new hard disk so could this be the reason for the anomaly. Can AVG put this right please?
Not sure of screenshot method but it's MENU then SUBSCRIPTIONS then right at the bottom it says
Active on 2 of 1 devices in the past 30 days {i)

When I put the cursor over the (i) a square panel comes up which reads –
" Your subscription is being used on 2 devices. This is more than allowed for your single device subscription. Please extend your subscription to cover these extra devices"

As mentioned earlier, your subscription is currently used under single computer.The devices count listed in subscription section of AVG program is the activation counts. However, it is suggesting you to purchase the product for the other devices. So, you can ignore the message and it wont affect the funtionality of the product.

Thanks for your reply. I take it then it is agreed that I am just using 1 Device. My concern was that under (i) you were asking for an increased subscription for 2 devices.
