AVG Internet Security slow Google Chrome on some sites

In order to identify the AVG component that is causing the issue, please follow the steps mentioned below 'Disable individual AVG component' in this article.

I have the latest version of AVG Internet Security, 20.10.3157 (build 20.10.5824.624), and it slow Google Chrome to a crawl on web sites like Facebook and Washington Post. I confirmed that AVGF was the problem by uninstalling AVG Internet Security, restarting my computer and then going back to the Washington Post website.

When I reinstalled AVG Internet Security the Washington post website was back to a crawl.

I am still using Windows 7 and really don't feel like upgrading to Windows 10.

When I disable "Web Shield" Chrome operates normally on the websites I stated above. As soon as I reenable "Web Shield" then Chrome opertion is slow again.
