I have replied to the email you have sent me, but as my reply to you makes clear, my concern is when AVG techniicians are going to sort this problem with the update.

Due to the many ongoing problems that users are facing with the new update, I have not yet updated to the new version.

I regret to say that I am not reassured by your answer, as this forum clearly shows that there are still  numerous problems from many users who have updated to the latest version, including memory leaks, high  ram/cpu useage, error messages etc. A quick look at the Avast forum also shows that there were  some similar error in that version update as well.
I believe that we need a definitive (perhaps higher level) statement from AVG senior engineers as there is still clearly a problem with this latest update.
I remain reluctant to update to the new version whilst these errors persist.
Can we have some clear guidance please, as this is an issue affecting many users.

In view of the above from other users, I am reluctant to update AVG Internet Security to the latest version as there currently appear to be several issues with the new update.
Has a fix been issued for this yet and when will it be safe to update?

But newer versions are only released to solve the issue caused in the older version.
You can update the AVG to the latest version without any worries.
