Hello Reuven,
I apologize for the difficulties caused to you.
Please disable AVG Internet Security as per the steps mentioned in this article ( http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-use-Passive-Mode ) and check if you are able to download .exe files in Mozilla firefox.
Do you encounter any error while trying to download .exe files via Firefox? If so, please share the screenshot of that error to assist further.

Thank you.
Just installed AVG Internet Security and it blocks Firefox (running on Win XP SP3) from downloading *.MP4 file from YouTube.
It also blocks any attempts to download *.exe files.
How can I tell this BLACK creature not to block downloading such files? [I read the "MENU" with its annoying black background more than few times, to no avail.)
[I believe I have the right to talk to Tech Support, but AVG did a very good job in hiding the links to it…]
Any lead, hind, advice will be highly appreciated.
Reuven
Thanks
