Sorry to hear that you would like to uninstall AVG. Download and run AVG Clear tool: https://share.avg.com/steam/PSP/AVG2017/AVG_Clear.exe. This tool will help with removing antivirus component of AVG 2017 and its traces.
Open tool
User Account control - click "Yes"
Windows safe mode - click "No"
Choose installed version (AVG Free, AVG Internet Security)
Click "Uninstall"
Click "Restart computer"
After restart, run AVG Remover and remove all other supported products and remnants of AVG (ZEN, Framework,…) as suggested in this article http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-uninstall-AVG .
I need to know how to stop AVG Internet Security from controlling my internet? I cannot use Windows Defender and AVG together so I need to take AVG off. I've removed everything for AVG from my programs, but my security says AVG is still controlling it and I can't turn on Windows Defender. How can I remove AVG Internet Security all together?
Laura, Just for info… Windows Defender is an anti-malware component of Microsoft Windows. It was first released as a free antispyware program download for Windows XP, shipped with Windows Vista and Windows 7 and made into a full antivirus program replacing Microsoft Security Essentials as part of Windows 8 and later versions which means if enabled on the same system with AVG the 2 progs will conflict with each other.
