Please let us know the operating system of the device in which you experience the issue & restart your computer once, if you've not restarted.
Before proceeding to reinstall, we can try repairing AVG program once.

I cannot load this as of yesterday. I did a scan which told me every this was OK. I clicked the Done button and got a message say my virus definitions were out of date - click to update. 

Nothing now responds - clicking the ICON  seems to try to start the process but then It dies…

can I uninstall and reinstall with out effecting the rest of my subscriptions
