I'm sorry to hear about this, you might have installed two AVG protection programs (AVG 2016 and AVG 2017 which is giving error download because you already have AVG 2016). In this case, I request you to remove all the AVG programs from your computer and reinstall a fresh AVG Internet Security. I have sent you an email, please follow the email instruction to reinstall AVG Internet Security.

Hi,  I have never used this forum before even though I have been using AVG products for years.  However, since I have found it impossible to get hold of AVG, I'm hoping you might be able to shed some light on my problem/query ?
An error message came on-screen saying something like 'Download failure'.  Once 'clicked' my AVG Internet Security product was opened up.  I noticed a 'new look' control panel was evident but had not been notified previously by AVG to expect an update.  Then I noticed in my Control Panel that I had not 1, but 2 AVG icons.  The original one when opened showed 'No Active Components' and was coloured RED.  What is going on here ?  I can't believe AVG would update my product without notice and if they did, not give me any indication of what to do - ie, do I uninstall/delete the 'No Active Component' software.
Any information would be greatly received.
