AVG Internet Security

Until today, I have been running Malwarebytes Anti Malware Premium and AVG Internet security together on my PC. I have been doing this for several years. An AVG update on 10/11/2017 suddenly said that I needed to remove Malwarebytes in order to run AVG. Are they suddenly incompatible now as a result of the latest software update?

Also, I then uninstalled AVG and tried to reload it and encountered an error (0x80010299) saying The file "avgfwd6a.sys" on AVG network filter driver disk is needed. I downloaded this upgrade and so I do not have a disk from which to get this file. How can I get this file to allow re-load of my paid subscription?

Hello Christian,
I am sorry to hear about the installation issues that you are experiencing with AVG. Please be informed that Malwarebytes is not compatible with latest version of AVG. You have to uninstall it to protect your PC with AVG, else AVG will run in only passive mode which is not recommended.

To analyze the installation issue further, I need to submit your concern to our senior technicians along with other diagnostic logs.
I have sent you an email with steps on how to collect and upload the data required for analyzing your issue. Please check your inbox and spam/junk folder as well.
