Hi Avinash,
I do not have AVG Secure VPN installed.
I only have installed the AVG Internet Security Suite.
Hi Dinesh,
I performed the actions you listed and I am still recieving the same reduction in network performance.
Please advise next steps.
Thanks.
Hi Dinesh,
Yeah the results are similar. I was getting 450Mbps before reinstallation. Once I reinstalled AVG Security Suite, without VPN my network performance dipped to 240Mbps. I did test using different browsers and two different Internet testing sites, just to be sure.
Hello Philip.
We regret the inconvenience caused.
Do you have AVG Secure VPN installed on your PC and VPN connection is turned on?
If you do, turn it off and verify if the speed is normal.
You may experience a slower internet connection when using AVG Secure VPN. This is because a VPN encrypts traffic and data before sending it to a server. Depending on the distance and capacity of the server, this process may cause a slightly slower, but safer, internet connection.
This isn't the usual behavior, Phil.
If you suspect AVG is slowing down the network connectivity, we'd suggest you to perform a clean installation of AVG once to check if it helps. To do so, uninstall AVG using AVG Clear & reinstall AVG Internet Security.
As it isn't recommended to share the license info over this public post, we've sent it to you via email.
I just installed the latest version of AVG Internet Suite and with default settings have seen my Internet speed test go from 438Mbps download speed to 265Mbps. That is a huge reduction in performance for any security software, especially endpoint security. How can I get this resolved so I get back to the 400Mbps of download speed?

Testing Internet speed using google speed test in Chrome.
We're sorry to know that, Phil. Would you be so kind to clarify whether you've checked the network performance before reinstalling AVG?
