I used to use AVG a number of years ago however as windows became a PITA I switched to Macs. I have bought another laptop for working needs to run specific OEM softwares. Added to which I added AVG as my security protection.
AVG used to quietly run in the background which it still does but the constant scare mongering threats you push through to get additional sales is fast becoming a real PITA. Every time I turn on this laptop and AVG runs its checks it informs me that my location is open to being viewed. If I wanted that protection I would have bought it at the same time I took out the subscription to AVG.
I don't want it I don't want to see it and quickly likely to cancel my subs I've had enough. Screw marketing scare tactics/ploys. Does this annoy anyone else?
Hello Archie,
In light of the current circumstances concerning COVID-19 outbreak, there was a delay. We are operational now.
We're sorry to know that you aren't happy with the campaigns that you get for other AVG products.
The campaign that you received saying that the location is visible is to know about our AVG Secure VPN program.
It will help you to secure the online privacy which can be considered as an additional layer of protection when you have AVG Internet security.
To know more about the product, refer this FAQ.
If you do not wish to see AVG campaigns for our products, open AVG Internet Security, click on "Menu–>Settings–>General–>Personal Privacy".
Uncheck the box that says "Show offers for our other products".
Thank you.
