AVG is always asking for a restart or the update has failed. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling AVG but nothing has worked. I also read about the issue on AVG's website but I still have the issue. What can I do about this?

None of the 3 articles above fixed the problem.  I ended up fixing the problem by running a computer scan with Norton Power Eraser. NPE found 3 or 4 files that were at risk and I deleted them.  After the scan, I reinstalled the free edition of AVG 2015. Since then everything has been working fine.
