AVG is Blocking my emails

Hostpapa has been intermittently blocking our IP address, stopping us sending and receiving emails for what it describes as:
Your mail client is doing weird things you our mail server’s firewall. That causes your IP address blocking.
We have tried numerous email clients but all exhibit the same problem.
However when I DISABLE AVG’s EMAIL SHIELD THE PROBLEM GOES AWAY.
Please advise how we can continue to use AVG.
