AVG is blocking my scanner

I am using Brother's Control Center 4 to scan and print on a all in one printer. I can print with the program but I cannot scan unless I disable AVG's enhanced firewall. How can I fix this?

I think the above link could help me too but it's not working. It says Sorry, we're currently hard at work
