Hi … twice in the recent past AVG has carried out an automatic registry clean-up (I can't remember the actual name of the process … but it always tells me after it has done this and tells me to restart my PC)
Both times this has caused Explorer11 to completely stop working … but Firefox seems to be OK !
The only way out of this is for me to reset my PC back to a previous restore point after which all seems to be OK … until the next time AVG wants to do it's thing again automatically.
How can I stop this happeneing ??? Is it possible to stop this automatic process from happening?
It is driving me crazy !!!
Have I go to really dlete AVG from my system and finad another product ?
Hi … thanks for getting back to me … however …
When I go into "Add/Remove Programs" and click on "change" … I do not see option of "repair" … all I get is a message saying that I need to re-start my PC … and it also gives and Error message "0xe001f90b"
How do I proceed with this ???
Hello Michael,
Thank you for writing back. Once you download and run the remover tool it will give you a choice to select what AVG programs to uninstall. Select all of them and continue with the uninstallation to remove them completely.
After you successfully uninstalled AVG, please click on this link http://files-download.avg.com/inst/mp/AVG_Ultimate_761.exe to download and install AVG ultimate.
This product does not require a license number for activation, as it is activated using your AVG MyAccount that was created during your purchase.
The exception should be added on AVG Protection (AVG Internet security) component only.
Please, feel free to let us know if you require any further assistance. Thank you.

Yes, I got the email asking me to allow remote control to try to sort out my problem … I will be doing this tomorrow morning (UK time) as I have to go out now.
I will let you know how I get on … thanks for all of your help & suggestions so far anyway.
Hi … I purchased AVG Ultimate in Jan 2016 … this seems to include several AVG programs.
Before I start to uninstall anything … just a couple of questions …
(1) Do I uninstall each part separately … or can removal be done in one go?
(2) After all of this uninstalling do I just go back to you web site and download AVG Ultimate again?
(3) Will I get a new licence number?
(3) When I start modifying the "Exception list" … do I do this for each part of the AVG suite … or can it be done once … if yes … which part do I do this???
Regards
Mike
