I have the entire AVG system disabled. The only way to make this more disabled would be to uninstall the program. However, it seems a bit ridiculous to have to do this because the reason for having AVG in the first place is to protect against viruses. And it can’t do that when it has been uninstalled. Even with the AVG program essentially disabled, it is still using 19% of my system CPU. It is the second highest CPU usage on my computer ---- and it is disabled! When I try to stop it using Task Manager, I am told access denied. So, what is the remedy here? Because I don’t want to be using an antivirus program that uses 20% of my CPU when it is disabled and more than 65% when it is enabled. I have 2 cores. Not 16 or 20. Just 2. If AVG is such a processor hog as it appears to be, then there should be a disclaimer that states this up front. I am glad I haven’t purchased the full version, because then how much CPU will AVG be using then under the full/subscription mode, when we add hacker attacks, personal data, and VPN? 80%? 90%. There is a lack of transparency here. Why can’t I limit the CPU usage of AVG? Example: AVG can only use 8% of my CPU and make this adjustable. Higher when I am asleep and it is supposed to be doing virus scans and 8% or 5% when I am actually using the computer. I have these wonderful screen shots I took which clearly displays this issue but I can't figure out how to upload them or display them here in this post. Clicking on the "image" button requires me to input a URL. But I don't have a personal website. I have a JPG image file on my computer. Any remedy here?
