AVG is out of date, pertutually

John,

Sorry for the difficulties. Mostly this out of date issue will occur only when the update files gets corrupted and we need to reinstall AVG Internet Security Unlimited completely to resolve it.

Do not worry, we will help you with reinstall steps. Go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Uninstall -> remove AVG Internet Security and restart your device. After restart, refer this article: http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Download-and-install-AVG-Protection to reinstall your AVG Internet Security Unlimited.

Yeah I keep getting the same message! And I JUST installed AVG on my BRAND NEW Computer! So this is NOT just a reinstall problem! It keeps telling me the virus definitions were updated 9 hours ago when I literally JUST INSTALLED AVG! What’s the issue here?!?!

For about a month I have been getting "virus definitions out of date" errors.  I have a Windows10 machine with AVG Internet Security.  I dutifully click the "update" button and it does somethings then says that it is good.  But I notice that virus definitions are always from November.  Now January, I suspect that something is wrong.

Is this something to worry about?

Andrew, let me explain it for you.

We release virus definitions for AVG program every few hours to identify malware and other emerging threats on your PC continuosly.  It is always set to update the Virus definitions and application automatically whenever a new update is available. This is why you see a message saying 'Virus definitions were updated 9 hours'. Once the latest update is available, it will display the message accordingly.

If you need any clarificaions, please don't hesitate to let us know.
