AVG is Out of Date/Scheduled Scan

Hello, have two queries please:
1) Why do I get "AVG is Out of Date" and have to click Update Now.  The previous version used to do it automatically.
2) I have a scheduled scan once a week at 1pm.  However, I don't leave my laptop on all the time so many times my laptop is switched off at time of scheduled scan.  With the previous AVG version, you can set it to automatically start the scan when computer is switched on if it missed the scheduled scan.  Unless I'm missing something, this is not happening.
Can anybody help please.

Thank you for providing an answer, as well as a feedback link. It is frustrating that the scheduled scan can no longer run on start if missed; I've seen my computer run for up to six days without scanning because of this (computer was on each day, just not when I had it scheduled).

I understand your concern. Please check in AVG update settings that you have automatic updates enabled, to check this open AVG Internet Security->Menu->Settings->Update->Setting->select "Automatic Updates".

Regarding the "Scheduled scan" settings, we no longer have this option to run scheduled scan if missed due to computer shut down. The scan will only initiate in next scheduled time not after the computer restart.

Thanks for your quick response Karthikeyan.  I have sorted the Automatic Updates.  I am though disappointed about you no longer have the option re scheduled scan.  So basically have to do it manually.  Kind regards Bernadette
