AVG keeps asking for Restart to fix problem

Since reinstalling Windows 7 Professional to my pc, my paid version of AVG Internet Security 2013 (which is licensed for 2 more years) keeps telling me that a restart is needed to fix several issues.  I have done that numerous times, and still no change.  Just in the last few minutes, I did a restart; AVG updated, and it is prompting me again for a restart.  Obviously the restarting is not solving anything.

I see that I can update to 2015 – will that solve the problem?

(I was originally having trouble with my printer and with Windows update.  Now this.  Is it all somehow inter-related?)
