AVG keeps deleting TOR

  • Have you tried to update AVG Internet Security and check the status?

Even if you use different protection like Malwarebytes, that will also block if the installed program have threats. Please provide the above information to help you better. Keep us updated.
Given that using the internet gets more and more complicated/dangerous everyday, I really want to start using TOR for an added layer of protection when browsing the internet. But every single time I download it, AVG keeps deleting important files that actually make the damn thing work no matter how many times I reinstall it, restart my computer, or add it as an exception. Half the time I'm barely even able to MAKE an exception before AVG automatically gets rid of the files.
What do I do to fix this? I don't want to go without antivirus, but I'm getting real sick of trying to make this work.
Also, if I got malewarebytes and used that instead of AVG, is that just as good?

Operating system is Windows 10
I sometimes get messages when I manage to get TOR working for a few seconds before AVG takes it down again (can't remember what they say) but mostly it just automatically does it without giving me an option
My AVG says it's up to date
