I don't have AVG on my PC. I cannot find any folders or files containing AVG. But AVG s launching my browser AFTER I've turned it off for the night and in the morning I find my browser open to a page offering me a "Crazy offer" from AVG.
How do I stop AVG from hijacking my browser? How do I get rid of whatever AVG has hidden in my registry?
Thanks.

Hello Robert,
We would request you to uninstall unknown add ons from your web browsers. Please right click on the desktop shortcuts of your web browsers, click on Properties, check the 'Target' field. It should be “ C:\ProgramFiles\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe” for IE and “ C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe” for Chrome. Please check and remove if any other text is added to this path. Thank you.
After using the remover I discover that my licensed version of TuneUp Utilities is an AVG product. So I didn't remove it. Nor could I find any way in the 'Notifications" section of "Settings" how to turn this unatuthrized launching of my default browser.
So … I would be grateful for your additional assistance in helping me turn this unwelcome feature off.
Thank you.
OK - I'll try again! I'm still having this problem. AVG is launching my default browser without my permission and opening a "Crazy offer" webpage. Can someone, anyone PLEASE tell me how I can stop this from happening?
I"m assuming that my AVG TuneUp Utilities 2014 (a licensed version) has inserted some sort of trigger in the software or folder that basically launches the webpage. There is nothing I can find in the programme itself that lets me turn off these unauthorized notifications.
Hi - There are no unkown add-ons on my default browser (Firefox v49.0.1) There is no other text added to the shorcut target: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
