AVG LinkScanner for Mac and AVG Anti-Virus for Mac

Thank you for the new information that AVG LinkScanner for Mac is no longer supported.   This would perhaps explain why it did not work for me with the El Capitan Mac OS.  LinkScanner has therefore been unstalled and deleted.  A 'work-around' for the issue encountered previously has been achieved by also uninstalling and deleting Ktomtech MakKeeper, FOLLOWED BY installing AVG AntiVirus for Mac, THEN installing (the latest version of) MacKeeper.    Both applications, AVK AntiVirus and MakKeeper are niow working fine, with no conflict, and I shall therefore no longer need to send you the screenshots that had been requested by yourselves.  However, I do suggest that you test, with a Mac' the link that is provided by AVG for the purpose of sending screenshots to AVG: as already stated, it appeared to me not to work.   Might it be preferable for the Comunity Topic for Security Protection to be shown on the Forum's list of topics as excluding any Mac issues, and for all issues involving the Mac, including 'Security Protection' etc., to be shown as having to be assigned on the Forum to 'Mac Products'?   I am grateful that my Mac is now properly protected, thanks to AVG.

Hello R. S. de chair,

I understand that you are facing issues in activating link scanner in your MacBookPro. We apologize for the inconvenience caused. We would like to confirm that AVG Link Scanner is compatible with EI Captain Operating System. As you have tried many troubleshooting steps prior to this contact, we request you to provide us with the screenshot of the actual issue. We need to visualize the issue and so that we can assist you accordingly. http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-create-a-screenshot

Thank you. Komal, AVG Customer Care.

Hello Mr. R. S. de Chair,
We keep you informed that the LinkScanner for Mac is no longer supported and we suggest you to install AVG AntiVirus for Mac instead. In terms of compatibility with MacKeeper we should choose any protection software and use it.  Feel Free to contact us for further assistance. Thank you.

LinkScanner for Mac on MacBookPro with El Capitan OS & Safari browser is permanently showing '!You may not be protected' error message and Secure Browsing 'Inactive' despite all remedial efforts, including latest Update; recourse to User Guide/ consultation with UK AVG Help personnel; re-installation of the application; use of LinkScanner Settings menu and of Secure Browsing 'Configure' link.

a.  Is Link Scanner for Mac currently supported for the El Capitan OS?
b.  If so, what is the procedure for bringing the Secure Browsing function back into operation?
c.  If not, has the Link Scanner for Mac application been superseded by AVG Anti-Virus for Mac?
d.  If so, is there any work-around for the conflict that seems to prevent AVG Anti-Virus for Mac being installed with MacKeeper is already installed, even though the Anti-Virus element of MacKeeper has specifically been excluded from the MacKeeper installation?
e.  If not, has anyone tried installing MacKeeper AFTER AVG Anti-Virus for Mac has been installed, as a means of avoiding the conflict as in d. above?

The foregoing is largely prompted by the fact that a third-party has started abusing my system by using it to send emails in my name to addressees on my address-list:  these indicate the presence of a virus, since they do not show up in the 'Sent' folder of the Safari browser, and are sent without my knowledge.  Help with restoring the functionality of AVG LinkScanner, and with getting AVG Anti-Virus for Mac installed without loss of ManKeeper (non-Anti-Virus) functionality, would be greatly appreciated.

R. S.   de Chair (Mr.)

Thank you for your reply.   I have screen-shots ready to send you.  However, the link for doing so that you have given, for me, at least on the Mac, only produces an error message.  Your email to me is a 'no reply' one, and so I cannot reply to that in the normal way to send the screen-shots, and I can find no provision for adding attachments to this present message on the Forum.  Please send me another email, explaining how to add attachments to a post on this website, or send some different link that will operate when used on a Mac for sending screen-shots, or else send an email giving an email address which is not 'no reply'.  I shall then be able to send you the screen-shot(s) that you have requested.
R. S.  de Chair
P.S.   The screen-shot procedure that you sent was actually the one for a PC, not for a Mac.
