I can understand your concern. To uninstall the AVG Link Scanner please follow these steps:
Download the install package of Link Scanner for Mac by clicking here https://share.avg.com/steam/PSP/Tomasek/Mac/avg_lsm_stf_all_2012_1815.dmg. The installer can be blocked by Gate Keeper. In such case deactivate Gate Keeper according to this (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202491) article.
Run the installer.
Click on Uninstall.

OS X may warn user to not open the installer. Please click Open.

In regards to downloading the install package of LinkScanner, here's where the link takes me:
The requested URL /steam/PSP/Tomasek/Mac/avg_lsm_stf_all_2012_1815.dmg was not found on this server.
I have a Mac running OS 10.11.6 with AVG LinkScanner installed. I cannot find a way to uninstall it, even after searching Google and reading all the forum threads about it I could. All the links for the original setup file or for another program that will uninstall it are now bad links.

The first screen of uninstaller will show up.
Mac will ask you to provide the password for the User Account that you are currently logged in (note: the Account needs to have Admin permissions in order to uninstall the Link Scanner )
After the uninstall process is allowed by Admin, the OS X will rise a request to close an Application.
In case that the uninstall won´t work:
Check the disk permissions. For OSX 10.11 use this(https://support.apple.com/kb/PH22243?locale=en_US) article.
