Hello Bob,
I understand how difficult this is for you. Please be informed that it is always not recommended to use more than one security software in your computer. Please follow the below steps in malwarebytes and check if that fix AVG Passive mode issue.
Go to Settings -> Application in Malwarebytes and near the bottom, under Windows Action Center, set the option to Never register Malwarebytes in the Windows Action Center. Then you should be able to get AVG out of Passive mode
I like many other folk used BOTH products simultaneously for the past years up until a few weeks ago. Malwarebytes DOES pick up some things that AVG misses. Now I keep getting messages to turn off Malware bytes and AVG is in a "sleep mode".
I am thinking of cancelling my AVG subscriptions. They used to be a good, friendly company, but I have been having issues with AVG for the past few months.
