I understand your concern on this update.
In the latest version of AVG, we do not have an option to download and run the offline updates.
You need to have an active Internet connection to update AVG programs on your computer.
We have already escalated this request to the concerned team and they are working on this.

Previously, with older versions of AVG internet security and antivirus, we could download the updates in a flash disk and proceed to update the programe offline. With the 2018 version of AVG, the provision for updating from Directory is not available. Please work on this because some computers are in remote areas with no internet link and we need to transport the updates manually. Or, is there a way out?
