Please share the screenshot of that threat detection message to have a better understanding.
Let us know the version of AVG you have installed. Open AVG Internet Security -> Menu -> About -> check its version.

AVG messages about threat detection are constantly being sent to my screen.  The messages are exactly the same and they appear every 2 -3 minutes. How do I shut them off? Why not send an email?
The message says that daily.ldb is infected with JS:Script S4-inf [TRJ].  While writing this email I've had six messages telling me this.
