Thanks for your prompt response, I can't find anything I could  describe as a "Version" for my system but it should be the latest as it was only renewed last month. I found some numbers which may help:-
Order number: 71554776
AVG Order reference number: 701-2969200.
 
I have the AVG Tune UP programme which via the "Fix Problems" route leads to a message which reads:- Windows reports that "AVG Network Filter Service" is not working properly". This has apparently reduced my system speed/efficiencyy from 86% to 63%.
I'm right out of my depth here
