Good morning,
I use a product from Automation Direct called C-more EA9 Software. It connects to their operator interface, C-more EA9 series. You can connect via Ethernet or USB.
I was having trouble getting the USB to connect. The USB is actually an USB to Ethernet interface. When the device is connected it shows up in the PC device manager as a Network Interface vía a RNDIS driver. The network interface gets an APIPA address and so does the operator interface, for example, 169.254.110.20 and 169.254.110.19. Even though there is an address, a ping to the panel fails
We discovered if I uninstalled AVG Internet Security the problem went away. So I tried AVG free and it caused the same issue. I was able to narrow down the problem to the Network Inspector. If I uninstall and only select the Network Inspector to uninstall the problem is fixed. How do I get this fixed where the Network Inspector is not blocking the connection? It used to work fine together and the driver has not changed since 2013. So it seems something on the AVG side changed.
I can provide more information if you tell me what you need. Thank you.
