AVG new Web Shield and Zenmate VPN

Hi, some months ago AVG added the web shield, which is a good thing I think.
But it often blocks my firefox and more often it blocks completely the brwoser if I activate Zenmate VPN.
Deactivating Webshield all works fine, but this is for sure not the best solution. Which other options do I have?

Waldemar,

Thank you for waiting patiently. I would request you to reinstall AVG on your MAC to fix the issue.

Hi, thank you. Just tried. Firefox tells me that that certificate is already active. I tried to remove and to readd, but nothing changes.

Now I've discovered that I can load http but no https

Hi, yes, when I disable webshield firefox is faster and zenmate works properly.

Waldemar,
Sorry to hear that the issue persists, we appreciate your efforts in trying to fix the issue. Not to worry, we do have alternate solutions. Please try the below suggested steps and let us know its status.

Firstly, it is necessary to obtain a copy of the certificate.
This can be found with Keychain Access with Keychain "login" and category "Certificates". Search for "avg". You should find "AVG trusted CA". Select it and export it from the menu bar under "File" then "Export Items…". Save it somewhere accessible.

Next, the certificate needs to be added to Firefox's certificate manager.
Open Firefox's Preferences > Privacy & Security tab. Scroll down to Security > Certificates. Open "View Certificates…". Click on "Authorities" then "Import…". Import "AVG trusted CA" and trust it to "identify websites". You can select "identify mail users" if you want. We are here if you need further help.

You are welcome, Waldemar.

Sorry for the trouble, we have escalated this case to our senior team for further assistance. We will get back to you once we heard from them. Your patience is much appreciated.

Thank you for the information, Waldemar. This seems to be a quite common issue after the update to Mac AV 18.1. Please run the following command in the terminal: "/Library/Application Support/AVGAntivirus/hub/usermodules/020_cert.sh" start and restart the computer and check the status.

If the issue persists, please provide the screenshot of the error message if you get any after entering the command. You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
